Flowers by Victoria

I am happy to admit that I was a “flower child”, a hippie of sorts from the 70’s, who advocated love, peace and simple values.   I have always loved flowers and feel like they are an extension of mother nature, and really show a beautiful dimension to our daily life.    Years ago, I made sand terrariums with succulents that co-workers would purchase for their loved ones.  I design all my flowers with tender love and care for my brides and their event, and I’m so honored and blessed that you have chosen me to create your “one of a kind” bouquet or floral design.  Yes, please provide me a picture to use as an idea, but as I’m not a paint by numbers designer or FTD copy cat, your floral design will be unique.  My signature design is always highlighted in my finishing wrap up around the stems of your bouquet, with little accents like pearl pins and brooches.

Complimentary Vases and NO Delivery Charges are standard with my flowers when you have booked our other services and I will be at your event anyway, either setting up your altar or photographing your event!

Flower Designs  I specialize in wedding bouquets and floral sprays for the wedding arbor, but also design corsages and boutonnieres; and I just love making the flower girl hair crowns, halos, headbands and comb sets.  I have worked with a wide variety of flowers from exotic tropical like Orchids, Plumeria, and Birds of Paradise, to beautifully unique roses such as my favorite David Austin rose collection out of Texas.  A few years ago I completed the Floral Design Program at our local Norfolk Botanical Garden, which really tied it altogether for me from a design aspect, but with special attention for floral care and transport.  At the end of the day, it’s my Bride’s vision that I want to please, but I will help you figure how to make that vision come to life within your realistic budget.

Silk (faux) Flower Designs  Sometimes it is just more practical to use silk flowers – some brides like to have me make them as a keepsake to show off in their home, and others prefer me to create a unique design they love, but just want to rent it from us.  I have ended up with many florals this way that we offer through our chapel for just that reason.  Just like a wedding dress, one size doesn’t fit all or most, and the same goes with wedding flowers and design!  Typically, these faux flowers are not made from silk at all, but are made from materials that are soft to the touch, more fabric like, and then of course there are the latex type flowers, and plastic flowers, which I try to never use.  When selecting silk flowers, I always insist on natural looking flowers, that resemble the freshest flower you could pick from a garden.

The internet is a wonderful place to get ideas, but know that most of the arbors shown from Pinterest and Instagram have floral designs and headers that typically cost anywhere from $500 to well over a $1,000 to design.  Plan ahead – very far in advance for certain types of silk flowers with specific colors, as those sell out early and you have to wait for new shipments to arrive, which can ruin your time table.
